School children using Tippy Taps provided through EdUKaid

EdUKaid received a small grant from PWCF in 2019 for their project to provide safe and sustainable sanitation and drinking facilities at Mnyundo Primary School in southern Tanzania.

EdUKaid improved sanitation and drinking facilities at the school by renovating dilapidated latrines, introducing of a Tippy-Tap hand-washing device and the installation of a rainwater harvesting system – supported by hygiene awareness workshops and teacher training ensuring long term impact.

This project has transformed the lives of 486 disadvantaged children and 9 teachers through the provision of safe and dignified sanitation facilities. Supported by the delivery of good hygiene awareness sessions, this project has provided these children and teachers with the information they need to improve their habits and behaviours – these sessions have also been cascaded out to parents, guardians and wider community members reaching over 1,592 in total.
